LFS crashed when I tried to join the S2 Bug Test Server. It downloaded all skins, but then I got the following message:

(wasn't able to copy&paste the text in that window, hope it provides some useful info though)

Hope thats not the final solution for the kick/ban vote system. The reason why kick-votes didn't work before, from my pov, was that people didn't specify the reason for the kick. I won't vote yes if i don't know what the suspected person did (sad enough that some do). Good thing would be if every time you start a kick/ban-vote, you get a text-box where you must type in the reason for the vote in a short sentence.

I'd say take your time, keep on trying the demo, and if you are still playing LFS in, let's say, 3 months, then you're ready to make the right decision about that.

It took me 1,5 years of demo racing to realise, that everytime I got bored from LFS and put it aside, I always returned to it after some while. So I purchased the S2 license, and yeah, i'm still here.

Try http://tremulous.net/, it's an online FPS/Strategy-Mix and uses the Quake3-Engine.

Basically it's about a battle between humans and aliens, the interesting part is that you can also play on the alien side. While the humans use guns, laser-rifles, granades and other technical stuff, the aliens bite, beat, or trample down the enemy.

A very addictive game, i played it for months

I'm using 100% in the Profiler and 100% in LFS with the DFP, with degrees set to match the car I'm driving (540° for GTRs, 450° for Formulas etc.).

Always thought that these settings give you FF in LFS the way it's supposed to be.

Wouldn't buy Armed Assault yet, right now it's still a beta and has some nasty bugs in it. I guess they will fix the game till the US release.

Performance is also poor, on a 8800gts I have to play at medium details to get framerates of 40 and above (and thats the minumum for a FPS)

I found this short video showing the 2006 Monza GP warm-up lap:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv0PU_wwoKE

You can see how some drivers are forcing wheelspin to warm up the tyres, and while they are doing that they steer hard left and right in a quick manner. Still they don't loose control of their car.

My problem is: when i try to imitate this maneuvers with the BF1 in LFS, i end up in a wall and with a broken front wing. Once the BF1 starts sliding it's gone for good.

However i'm not very experienced with the BF1, so i wonder if anyone else is actually able to reproduce this kind of driving in LFS?

Of course i can't say how close the BF1 in LFS is to driving a real F1 car, but the handling at low speeds feels too diffucult to me.

Heres one more video showing a warm up lap from the on-board cam:

Thats a good suggestion, i never can remember the name of the track configuration when i want to save a setup. So I always disconnect, check the trackname on the server list, reconnect and then rename the setup :juggle:

No, the plates should stay

For players who disabled the automatic skin download option (like me) the plates are helpful to identify the other players in a race

It's too late now for me, but today I received the answer from logitech. I'll post it here for people who might have the same question:

Answer from the Logitech Costumer Support ( translated with babelfish ) :
Quote :
(...) As I infer from your inquiry, the Driving Force Pro is offered with two article numbers. The difference between both models exists in the pedal unit. The Driving Force pro with the article number 963293-1914 is delivered with a more current, technically improved pedal unit. (...)

I asked the stores, i asked logitech, with no result. So I decided to ignore this problem and ordered the cheaper wheel.
Buying the Dfp... but which one?

Hello!

I didn't want to open a new topic, so i thought i use this one for my question:

I decided to buy a Dfp, so I checked for the best prices on the internet, but the sellers i've found offer 2 Dfp, each for a diffenent price.

Here are the links to them (german sites):

http://www.e-shop24.com/oxid/i ... b340b3f2621fb2e3.88027943
http://www.e-shop24.com/oxid/i ... 6e4315312c7f67f9.67674242
and
http://www.vobis-shop.de/vobis ... .service?articleid=201320
http://www.vobis-shop.de/vobis ... .service?articleid=122934

And there are even more sites that offer 2 Dfp

Now I wonder if there is a difference between the wheels, or which one should i take
Maybe someone can help me with that

Thanks
